Introduction to Make-Up

This course is designed for participants who wish to gain practical and technical skills as a Make-up Artist.

Perfect for those curious in the make-up industry, but unsure if they would like to commit to a full time study.

This course will enable you to choose your own direction and commitment to the make-up industry.

OPTION TO ENHANCE YOUR QUALIFICATION

At the end of the 6 week course you can opt to add on the extra day to complete the practical and written assessments to be competent in the unit SHBBMUP002 Design and apply make-up to be issued with a Statement of Attainment and the Freelance Bridal Makeup Artist qualification.

 

Attendance:  6 weeks

(Monday 5:30pm – 9:30pm &  Tuesday 5:30pm – 9:30pm )

 

Course Fees:  $900 + GST

                            $400 (additional for Statement of Attainment qualification)

 

Pre-Requisites: 

*Applicants must have successfully completed year 10 and be at least 16 years of age.

*No prior knowledge or experience is required

  • Colour corrective make-up, foundations, concealer and powders
  • Highlighting and shading techniques

  • Skin Care and cleansing
  • Eye shapes
  • Eye liners and  shaping eyebrows
  • Application of false lashes
  • Corrective techniques for lips and product textures
  • Correct placement of blush and product textures
  • Remedial camouflage
  • Smokey eyes
  • Natural makeup
  • Winged eye liner makeup
  • Asian makeup
  • Ethnic/Cultural Makeup (Indian/Middle Eastern)
  • Mature makeup
  • Colour photography
  • Black and White photography

Professional Make-Up Brushes: 

Students will be required to have brushes for the course.

Requirements for Lessons – Models: 

Students are not required to models for each lesson. You can bring in a model if you wish for any practical lessons.

Requirements for  additional Assessment - Models: 

Students are required to bring in a model(s) for the assessment day

Requirements for Lessons – Equipment:

As a make-up artist, you will be required to provide all your own cleaning and hygiene materials and makeup brushes. Students have the option to purchase makeup brushes and a makeup kit from the academy on the enrolment form. Please make sure you bring the following equipment to class every day; At least two each of clean terry towelling hand towels, tissues, cotton buds, cotton pads, baby wipes (Fragrance Free), notepad, pens, pencils, ruler, etc. The academy will provide the makeup products.

 

Enrolments: 

In order to secure your position in the course you are required to pay the course deposit a minimum of two weeks prior to the course commencement. The deposit is required to secure your place.

Upfront balance payments are due on the first day of the course.

Payment plan option is available to be paid weekly for 5 weeks of $98 starting on the first day of the course.

CJMD requires a minimum of 5 students to run the class.

Refunds:

If the course is cancelled due to a lack of student enrolments or something else on our behalf, then you are entitled to a refund. Or alternatively you may choose to roll over to the next available scheduled course. If you pay for the course and your attendance is at nil, you are not eligible for a course refund.

AT HOME REQUIREMENTS

At home study: Business Plan, Accounting, Marketing, Websites, Social Media Networking

At home study:Read through lesson notes prior to each class and prepare a list of questions to ask trainer for revision.

DAY ONE Monday : (No Model Required) Make-up Kit information, Steps to Balance, Skin Care & Cleansing, Colour Theory

DAY TWO Tuesday: (No Model Required) Face Charts, Highlight and Shade

 

Week Two:

DAY ONE Monday : (No Model Required) Foundations & Powders, and     Remedial Camouflage

DAY TWO Tuesday: (No Model Required) Eye Shapes Theory and Practical, eyeliner.

 

Week Three:

DAY ONE Monday : (No Model Required) Eye Shapes Theory and Practical, Eyebrows

DAY TWOTuesday: (No Model Required) Mascara & Lash Application, Lips and Cheeks, eyeliner and eyebrow review

 

Week Four:

DAY ONE Monday : (No Model Required) Natural Makeup Design

DAY TWO Tuesday: (No Model Required) Smokey Eye Makeup Design with intensive contouring.

 

Week Five:

DAY ONE Monday : (No Model Required) Asian makeup look with a bold lip

DAY TWO Tuesday: (No Model Required) Ethnic (Indian/Middle Eastern makeup design with winged eyeliner

 

Week Six:

DAY ONE Monday : (Model Required) Mature Makeup for colour and black and white photography

DAY TWO Tuesday: (No Model Required) Special Occasion Makeup for colour and black and white photography
