Fashion & Editorial Make-Up Artist Course
The Fashion and Editorial Makeup Artist Course is design to explore creativity with make-up designs to prepare artists for the industry for fashion editorials, fashion advertising campaigns, fashion runway shows and beauty editorials.
Whether it be for print or runway, fashion and editorial makeup application must be creative, yet appropriate for the purpose to be served. It is important to understand the latest runway and couture trends from international and national shows, as well as what is happening on the high street. Fashion makeup can be minimal, edgy, dramatic, vintage inspired and classic.
Working as a makeup artist on editorial photoshoots is a highly creative process for a makeup artist. It requires the makeup artist to work as team to produce an illustrative story through their vision.
During this course students will have a strong understanding of the importance of beautiful flawless skin and how to collaborate and design looks towards a creative brief.
At the end of the course the students have the option to participate in a professional photoshoots to build their portfolio. The photoshoot is set on the creative briefs outlined in the assessments for the artist to showcase their individual skills.
This course is designed for those who wish to gain employment in the fashion and editorial section of the industry, makeup artists wishing to refresh their skills. It is also designed for those who want to learn the CJMA modules only from the Nationally Recognised Training Programs CUA51015 Diploma of Screen and Media & CUA41215 Certificate IV in Screen and Media that relate to working as a makeup artist for fashion and editorial

Course Duration: 25 Weeks

Materials $1,650 (including GST)
Participants are required to pay for their makeup kit before the course commencement.
Please note that payment plans are not available for materials.
Kit materials are outlined in the Course Guide.
Photo shoots: There is an option to participate in a photoshoot at the end of the course. The additional charge is featured in the enrolment form.
Pre-requisites
- Applicants must have successfully completed year 10 and be at least 16 years of age.
- Applicants should display clear communication skills, and a passion for the make-up industry.
- All applicants are encouraged to obtain and read a copy of the CJMD Student
- Handbook prior to enrolment as your signed enrolment form signifies your legal contract and agreement to these terms.
- During this course students are required to be available for work experience, which may include weekend and/or evening work.
Course Fees: $4000 part time, $5250 full time
Payment Details
We are planning on running the existing part-time course ($4,000), and then running an expanded full-time course ($5250)
Deposit: A $500 (part time) or $1200 (full time) non-refundable deposit is payable on enrolment to secure position in course.
The total course cost is to be paid via monthly/Fortnightly direct debit instalments.
